The gorge expedition is the real deal and is a must for the fit and fun loving adventure seeker. Once past the point of no return, you're into is the 'Narrow Gorge' and the only way out is 4-5 hrs later at the spectacular Storms River Mouth in the world famous Tsitsikamma National Park. This unique adventure experience is rounded off with a couple of cold ones and a well deserved Braai.

The gorge expedition is the real deal and is a must for the fit and fun loving adventure seeker.  The full day trip is conducted on the lower section where the Storms River is at its narrowest.

The experience is somewhat similar to caving but can cater for the unexperienced adventure seeker. Most (90%) of our trips are conducted on medium-low to low water and the trip entails pool paddling, bouldering, tube jumps, swimming, and optional rock jumps up to 8m in height. (short pour over and shoot rapids are water level dependent)
The fern clad gorge walls offer unique scenery that can only be seen by traversing the full day tubing route as its location lies too far out of reach from the river mouth and too far into the canyon to be accessed on foot upstream without the use of specialized equipment.

All full day trips require a 800m walk down into the gorge and a steep walk out at the exit.
Participants are advised that a good level of fitness is required.

On medium-high to high water (10% of our trips), the narrow gorge becomes too dangerous to access by tube and all operations are moved to the upper sections of the river where the river is at it widest and the pool and drop river system makes for a super fun roller coaster rides through rapids with apt names such as 'Rock n Roll,' Rollercoaster' 'Double Trouble' and 'Sally'.

All full day storms river tubing trips are rounded off with a couple of cold one and a well deserved braai.
